Hike the discovery trails P9 and P14, the Wacholder path between Witzenhausen, and the villages Ellingerode and Roßbach. Scale the highest summit of the Kaufunger Forest, the Bilstein. Incredible views from the historic lookout tours and incredible views of the striking low mountain landscapes of Meißner and Werra.
You can also enjoy typical north Hesse dishes or a hearty meal at guesthouses or huts. The paths lead through forests and past meadows of fruit and wide fields. Ideal for beginners and hikers.

Experience every side of our town. Take to the culinary foray and cross the gateway into the Middle Ages at Berlepsch Castle.
Participants of the culinary tour experience how colorful and diverse the cherry and university town of Witzenhausen is. Next to sight-worthy town treasures, many different stores offer typical culinary dishes from the region.
Afterwards, the participants dress in historical robes and experience the Berlepsch Castle on a guided tour. An exciting day on Hesse's northernmost border fortress ends with coffee and cake.
