Bundled up in snowy weather or hitting the trails and slopes
The Hoher Meissner (754 m above sea level) offers a perfectly groomed cross-country ski trail with classic and sporty skating trails. There are also two downhill slopes with lifts to the ski area in the Meißner – Kaufunger Forest Nature Park. Downhill sledding is right next to the Naturfreundehaus (natural friend house) and the Viehhauswiese. The crunching of snow on the snowy hiking trails through the valleys, forests and high plateau is too tempting. The silence away from hectic everyday life and the magical appearance of the winter landscape are tempting. In the rustic huts and retreats you can warm yourself with hot drinks, cakes and hearty, regional delicacies.
